we went to uil concert/sightreading 2day & got sweepstakes (6 straight 1's)!!!!!
to say that this has been a rough year for the Carthage band is a total understament but we pulled thru and did it yet again!!!! what a PERFECT way to end Senior year!!!! haha I teared up several times...I nearly did esp. wen we were walking out of the sightreading room & Mr. Durham said "good job trumpets"..he has NEVER said that!! to be honest we are a pretty weak section (pretty much bc it's a rlly young section...2 seniors (although the other one just got bak in this yr after droppin out freshman yr), 2 sophmores, & 3 freshmen)...but we did amazing today!! we didnt even sound like ourselves!!!!!!! it's so amazing to think how much we hav improved since our very first rehersal wen Durham pulled all the Seniors in his office and was like "this cant be for real!...." (u could tell he was ready to quit his first day back in Carthage).
OMG I always say that I totally hate this band this yr bc of the lack of effort but realized today how much Im gunna miss it!
