Death2Self Records isn't your typical record company. We're a small non-profit business powered by regular people with average jobs living in average homes. We're not the dudes you see living in penthouses on the 23rd floor on MTV. We don't have fancy parties going every weekend with people breaking our stuff and to be honest, the sight of scantly clad women wanting dollars slapped on us makes us cringe. No, we're not your typical record company...

That said, our method of signing new talent isn't typical either. Most of the time, we're the ones who goes out looking for the new artist, not the artist looking for us. However, it is flattering to find people believing in our ministry enough to want to be a part of it, and we commend that and take that into consideration when scouting for new talent. So yes, you CAN get signed by simply asking... but the process in either case is never followed by a quick, immediate decision.

You want to know the secret for becoming an offciially signed artist to Death2Self Records? I will give it to you: be-real. We've been around for the last 5 years, we've seen A LOT of posers trying to get signed by us, despite how small we are as a label. I think at this point, we've become pretty smart in the ways of signing artists. If you know and understand what we stand for, and if that lines up with who YOU are and what YOU stand for, then it will happen by divine appointment. God is the one in charge after all, is He not?

Not all relationships with us is meant to last forever, which is why we pride ourselves on building our artists, remain as a spiritual accountability, and if a better opportunity comes, we send them with our blessings. However, to HELP US out, we expect those signed to our label to help build it for the benefit of other artists as well as future artists who may get signed. Death2Self does stand for selflessness.

BTW, it doesn't help when you come to up to us with a "huge desire" to be signed by us for all the right reasons, yet you don't know who's even ON the label currently. If you're gonna try and scam us, do your homework at least."

To sum it all up, get to know us, show us and tell us who you are, and give us time to pray and see it for ourselves. It may take a long time... it may take a couple days. God will reveal that to us. It's been 5 years, we're doing pretty well. Hope that helps.
